Celebrating Holidays and Learning Languages with a Fun Children's Book
Halloween is this week. This means dressing up and trick-or-treating for children. For me, it means imposing the "Dad Tax" while I check out what was brought home and making sure candy is "safe" to eat.
Lovie loves this time of year because stores are putting Christmas displays next to the Halloween candy. For her, Fall is a reminder the Christmas is right around the corner. This seems like a very big corner. Meanwhile, my beloved daughter is continuing to bake yummy treats that coincide with the Fall Season. It's just a matter of time before she starts rolling out the Christmas goodies.
If you're like Lovie, Halloween means the doors are beginning to creak open to Christmas. As soon as the candy bags are dropped and the costumes are put away, stores across the nation are decked out with yuletide cheer. Halloween gives way to Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving leads to Christmas, which soon means it's time to welcome the New Year. They don't call them "The Holidays" for nothing.

It's not uncommon to see holidays bunched together, and every holiday means different traditions for different families. Heidy Espinosa is sharing what the holidays mean for the Coco-Nuts Family. The Coco-Nuts were created by Heidy to help children learn about the different holidays and how they can be celebrated. Heidy' book, "The Coco-Nuts Holiday Story Collection", a book that follows a family of coconuts who are new in town. The book sees them celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and helping people in the family and beyond during each holiday. Another great part about this book is parts of it are written in Spanish. This book can help both English and Spanish learners improve their language skills. The family, along with their pet beetle, Crunch, face different challenges and find new ways to celebrate each holiday and add a little cheer to the different coconuts they encounter. Heidy's book is the first in her "Falohop Library" Collection.
"The Coco-Nuts Holiday Story Collection" is an easy to read book for children. It can teach them about helping others and help them learn and improve another language. Giving and caring comes easy for this family. Deeds they do that seem like little, everyday things make a big difference to people who experience their generosity.
The Benefits of Learning a Different Language
I began to learn Spanish in the seventh grade. Spanish helped me in jobs when someone was needed to communicate with workers who didn't understand English. It also allowed me to watch movies that were dubbed in Spanish. I was able to understand what people were saying and learn additional words. This was especially helpful with movies I had seen before. I also learned some words that no one, especially the teachers were going to teach. I shared some of these words with a friend from Guadalajara. Her reaction assured me I got those words right.
Learning a different language can be fun. It can unlock many doors for your child later in their life. If you have wanted to learn or improve your English or Spanish, The Coco-Nuts Holiday Story Collection has simple, everyday phrases that are great for you to start your new language journey. Your new skill can help someone who is lost in your town, and it can also add a new dimension to your own travel. Knowing a different language might make you want to do some travelling to a foreign country and use your new skill.Heidy's Work to Help Others
The Coco-Nuts are part of Heidy's mission to help others learn. I am proud to tell you she has enlisted Brave Daddy's help in this mission. Heidy is providing a discount for readers of this blog to save money when they purchase this book through my site. Type the coupon code "Greg10" and save 10% when you buy her book.
In addition, Heidy has pledged to donate one book to a child in need for every book she sells. Kindness, as she says, grows when it is shared. Falohop Library's goal is to donate one million books. I'm glad to have a small part in this great and worthy mission.
The Oppressed is interested in learning new languages. She as (sort of) mastered English and she is learning Spanish. She has also taught herself American Sign Language (ASL). My youngest daughter loves learning. She is starting high school, and she is constantly coming home, eagerly telling me what she picked up that day. It's great to see her doing well as she learns new skills, especially those that will help others.
