Valentine's Day Gift Ideas for Him
Valentine's Day is just around the corner. No doubt you have seen ads everywhere for flowers, chocolate, candy. Scroll on your phone or jump on YouTube and there has been plenty of unsolicited advice about what she wants for Valentine's Day. But what about him? What would your husband, your boyfriend want on this day we celebrate the cupid?
Spending Quality Time with Your Man
I put this question to men wondering what they would like when it comes to celebrating February 14. Some of the answers had nothing to do with anything material. Some men would just like to spend some time with their significant other, like SP who likes the tradition of getting a heart-shaped pizza and a bottle of champagne to share with his wife, followed by bedtime and then something on the television. "Nothing crazy," he says, "But we like it."Another man, TP, also likes to have pizza with his lady. Theirs is a punk rock pizza party, followed by a little one-on-one time while their toddler sleeps away. "We have a toddler in the house, so it's not always easy for the spontaneous romp," he explains. Pizza and some alone time with the wife is just what he has in mind.
"Material (things)? Meh, not my thing." he said.
CC, a woman, took the small pizza party a step further by suggesting the couple make the pizza together. Sometimes cooking together can be a great couple's activity. Doing something with your man would be something else he would appreciate.BR, a father of three, including a 5-month-old, echoed TP's sentiment, saying, "Any ability to have one-on-one time with the wife would be amazing.
Time together as a couple is nice, but for men like SE, having some time alone to devote to hobbies is the best present. A nice dinner wouldn't hurt, either. He didn't mention if dinner was with or without his lady.
Valentine's Gifts for Your Man
For those who want to buy something material for their beau, ST says a massage, "really hits the spot." Men have their favorite place to go for a massage. Here's mine. AY not only got massage vouchers, but also a couple of boxes of his favorite protein bars. Something to help your man through the day is also something he would appreciate. Gamers like SB would like a PlayStation Portal for the holiday, and really low-maintenance men like TG get a package of underwear. And then there are the selfless guys like WS asking for World Peace. This may be a somewhat tall order, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask.
There are plenty of ways to make your man feel special this Valentine's Day. Of course, you could always ask him to find out what he wants. Then again, it would be nice to surprise him. Valentine's Day is a great day to think of the man in your life and remind him how special he is.
