An Uncle's Death and Family Mourning

Image
Loyal readers know there's never a dull moment with Wife and the Miracles of Christ. If we're not travelling to see one side, we're going in the other direction to see the other side. Sometimes we are staying the night and sometimes it's just a day trip. Whatever it is, whoever we're visiting, it's keeping everyone here on our toes. Sometimes there is a reason for visiting family that is not-so-great. I've told you about trips I've had to make in the past to say final goodbyes to family members.  There are also happy reasons for leaving the homestead and heading out to see people. Whatever it is, there is always news about our family, and sometimes that news gives us cause to get in the car and go. I got news of my uncle Jeff's passing two weeks ago. It was more sad news for my father's side of the family. I've said goodbye to my grandmother, two aunts and an uncle already. This made for the second uncle I've lost on this side. Uncle Jef...

My Baby Cousin got Married

Image
September 20. The big day! Wife, the children, and I went to Maine last week. My cousin was getting married. Marriage and weddings are special occasions to celebrate, and it was quite a sight to see my little cousin tie the knot. My cousin's name is Dara. My uncle called him "Daronald". This led to my nicknames of "Damented", "Dalerious", and my favorite, "Daronalerious". As Dara grew up, I would play wiffle ball with him. My aunt and uncle have a pond on their land. We would go to the pond and try to catch frogs. Sometimes we got lucky and caught one. Video Games with my Cousin We also played video games. We played "High Heat 2004" . I liked this game and I thought it was just as good as what EA Games had to offer. I was in the minority. Anyway, Dara and I would play "High Heat". Because he was a child, I usually threw the ball down the middle for him. He would hit it, but I had good defense behind my pitcher, so I was ab...

Book Review: Future Focused Wealth by Melissa Cox

My grandfather once said to me, "Don't work for your money, let your money work for you." It became advice that has stayed with me ever since. We won't always be physically able to work, and at some point in our lives we will need to downshift physical efforts. Take it from someone who loaded trucks in the middle of the night, physical labor will catch up to you. "Your future self is out there, waving at you frantically from 20 to 30 years down the road, hoping you don’t forget about them." - "Future Focused Wealth" Younger people should start saving their money as soon as they can. There are plenty of options out there and the electronic advantages we have today make it easier to get started on that road. As tempting as it is to buy a nice handbag, new shoes, or upgrade your cell phone, there are more advantages to downgrading that next purchase and putting your money away for that proverbial "rainy day". Trust me, you will find a lot of...

"Awaken Your Body" by Danielle Armour, Ph.D.

Daddies and Mommies like to have their "Alone Time". It's gets harder when there are children in the house. It's not impossible if the kids are home, but you need to be more careful about it. What is Blocking your Intimacy? There can be other things that get in the way of intimacy. These things can be physical or psychological. They can be your body, your nervous system trying to protect you because of past experiences you have had. When it feels like there is something blocking you from intimacy, some women will try to force their way through it. There is no "One Size Fits All" solution when it comes to sexual dysfunction. Many women will look for answers, but they will try to rush the process, hoping for a "quick fix". One of the common problems with the "solutions" is that they don't look at the person as a whole. Danielle Armour and her Book This is where Danielle Armour comes in. Danielle has written "Awaken Your Body, Awak...

The Big Lesson in Charlie Kirk's Death

Image
"Good words are better than bad strokes" William Shakespeare, "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar", Act V, scene i Yesterday, Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at an appearance at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah . (According to the college's website, the campus is closed until September 15.)  Tyler Robinson has been taken into custody for the murder. Kirk's appearance was his usual setup where he sits down with a microphone and invites people, liberal and conservative, to step up and debate him on any issue they please. Charlie Kirk's Unique Style Charlie Kirk (Photo: tpusa.com ) Kirk's style was rather unique in this time, where the strategy of many people is to shout down their opposition and make sure the other side of an argument isn't heard. Slants and biases are, unfortunately, part and parcel of the "legacy media", and it is why the general public has tuned out the News, once a gold mine for local television stations and nation...
